Court Records

The Chancery Court Records Office is responsible for the filing of initiating documents, summons, motions, and judgments. Cases include divorce, family matters, adoptions, probates, guardianships, conservatorships, commitments, land issues, and other civil matters. Starting in 2013, these records were and are currently filed and recorded on the Mississippi Electronic Courts system (MEC). Copies can be requested for a fee.

Although the clerk's office attempts to answer as many questions as possible, the clerks are unable to offer legal advice. It is recommended to seek legal counsel if you have any questions the clerks cannot answer. Click here for the Mississippi Access to Justice Commission for additional resources.
