Rankin County Safe Room and Conference Center
Built in 2014 the Rankin County Safe Room located at 651 Marquette Road provides the citizens of Rankin County a safe haven from severe weather. The Safe Room is constructed to FEMA 361 Design and Construction Guidelines and can withstand 250 mph winds. The Safe Room is operated by Rankin County Emergency Management Operations and will be open to residents anytime there is a tornado watch or warning in Rankin County.
The Rankin County Tornado Safe Room is available for organizations to rent for meetings, training and other functions. However, all rentals may be cancelled due to a tornado watch or warning issued for Rankin County.
