David Ruth

David Ruth, CMEI

David Ruth was elected Rankin County Coroner in 2015. He has been involved with law enforcement for over 30 years. Along with his duties as the county's coroner, David serves as an Investigator with the Rankin and Madison County District Attorney's Office. David has been a longtime resident of Rankin County, and he is a member of Brandon Baptist Church.

    Clifton Dunlap

    Clifton Dunlap is a life-long resident of Rankin County. He is a 2004 graduate of Brandon High School, and 2006 graduate of Holmes Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science. Clifton has worked in the death care profession since 2006 and has 4 years experience as Deputy Coroner. Clifton is certified by the State of Mississippi as a Deputy Medical Examiner Investigator. He has received numerous hours of continuing education.

    Tara Evans

    Tara Evans, RN, is a native and current resident of Pearl, MS.  She graduated from Pearl High School 1995 and went on to receive her B.A. in Psychology from Belhaven College in 2001 followed by her BSN from Mississippi College in 2006.  Tara has been employed at Community Health Services since 2003 where she currently works as a full-time nurse at Merit Health Rankin Emergency Department and a PRN at JMS Burn and Reconstruction Center at Merit Health Central.  Tara recently received her certification from the State of Mississippi as a Deputy Medical Examiner Investigator and officially joined the team in July 2017. 

    Along with her love of nursing, she has had the privilege of becoming an ABLS Instructor, allowing her to share her passion with students while further honing in on new ways to provide the utmost in patient care.  She is a member of the Pearl PTSO and has two sons, Alexander and Samuel who keep her busy and entertained between shifts.

    Eric Mallery

    Eric Mallery is a long time resident of Rankin County.  He is a 1994 graduate of Brandon High School.  He is a 1998 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Certificate in Criminal Justice and Corrections.  During his time in college, he completed an internship with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office.  Once he graduated, he joined Rankin SO full time where he is still employed as a Patrol Sergeant.  Eric joined Rankin County Coroner David Ruth as one of his Deputy Coroners in 2016.  He is certified by the State of Mississippi as a Deputy Medical Examiner Investigator and has received numerous hours of continuing education for both death investigations and law enforcement functions.
