UTILITY PERMIT INSTRUCTIONS

 

Rankin County adopted an ordinance requiring a utility permit and inspection before there is a change in occupancy in any dwelling, building or structure (commercial or otherwise). The ordinance was adopted June 17, 2013, with an effective date of October 1, 2013. The ordinance was amended on November 15, 2018. The following steps must be taken by the new occupant or property owner:

1. Complete Utility Permit Application
2. Pay $100.00 Permit Fee
3. Schedule an inspection. (This is an inspection of the interior and exterior of the home.)

The application can be emailed to [email protected] if payment is made by telephone with a debit/credit card. Discover, Mastercard and Visa are accepted. Please call 601-824-2570 to make payment and schedule the inspection.
